We are committed to bringing the future closer to the present and converting conventional cities into smart cities, or Smart Cities, efficient cities based on a sustainable urban approach in which active travel and green spaces are the focal point, is a key element. Orienting cities towards citizens rather than vehicles has become fundamental for institutions and city councils, and is complementary to the goals of the Agenda 2030 and measures to combat climate change.
The rise of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is helping to make some cities more functional, accessible and safe for all citizens and paying special attention to the elderly, children and the handicapped by studying and modifying their urban structure.
In addition, commuting should be short, fast and preferably on foot or by public or shared transport, an aspect that the latest models of cities are hindering due to their division into living areas, work areas and commercial areas, which makes it necessary to drive to access any place, so smart and sustainable mobility is a necessity to improve the quality of life of citizens.
As our team is made up in part of PhDs in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Granada, we have a team that includeswe consider a duty to contribute to the avance de las ciudades y su conversión a “Smart Cities”designed to operate efficiently. For this reason, we develop projects in which we work closely with public and private organizations in the planning and management of the gradual, adapted and sustainable growth of cities.
