The Regional Counselor of Public Works, Marifrán Carazo, has sent a letter to the new Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA), Raquel Sánchez, requesting a meeting to address the shortcomings of the railway infrastructure in Andalusia, including the train from Granada to Motril and the Mediterranean Corridor, as well as the distribution of Next Generation funds. Marifrán Carazo has shown her confidence that the new minister "will be more receptive to Andalusia than the previous minister" recalling that "in two years, and despite having asked her on numerous occasions, she was unable to hold such a meeting with the previous head of MITMA, José Luis Ábalos.
The study to check the feasibility of developing a railway route between Granada and Motril has been carried out by the company GIS4tech.
